Yes, there is quite a (shopping) list but I will tick away at it over the next little while - the funny thing is that when I told my mother-in-law that I was 'autumn' - she wasn't surprised at all as those were the colours I used to wear. But after a marriage break up my confidence was shot and I reverted to 'safe' black!!!!
So here I go with the colour again - I have introduced a bit this week and have had some very favourable comments from work colleagues.
Thank you so very much for bringing a bit more of my confidence back out again.

Thanks Margaret - lovely to see your newsletter again - I really enjoy them. It's also a good way to keep your profile up. Incidentally your little colour booklet is good for that too. I have found that to be quite useful and on occasions have brought it out and passed on your details to others.
You'll be pleased to know I am now automatically gravitating to bright colours all the time for everything, and finding that current clothing that I am reluctant to discard (which doesn't quite fit into my new colour chart) is looking good combined with the "new" colours, even if only with bright scarves or jewellery and I am getting more compliments!
If you want to add my comments to your website feel free - they are sincere, heartfelt and appreciative! I would strongly urge and encourage other women to take your class (Small Group Workshop) that you gave us that evening - it was great and definitely well worth it - especially as it wasn't only just colours but style as well!

At end of workshop, (I) understood (the) potential of saving me a lot of money from buying incorrect clothing.
I liked asking questions and talking of side issues as they arose and you never made me feel guilty that I was exceeding the time frame.
What worked well? Your listening and understanding my personality as well as what 'should' suit.

What worked well? Gave me a better understanding of myself into which colours suit me and styles to look out for.
What could be improved? I felt 4 in a group was sufficient as there is so much information to take in. It was surprising!
Would you recommend me to your friends? Yes definitely (I think Pam is going to have one with her friends)

Margaret obviously knows her job very well and is very helpful and informative. Her teaching style is very user friendly and (she) has the ability to capture all sorts of people. One subject just leads into the other.
This type of subject can be quite embarrassing for some people, but everyone was made to feel very comfortable and a little bit special, because you begin to learn more about yourself as well. Very, very useful and helpful. Using actual clothing worked really well as the person was able to see the difference straight away rather than try and picture it in your head. Also liked the charts and use of different garments eg evening wear, casual wear.
Yes, sometimes it can be hard to mix and match, but now that we know how to mix and match (it) just makes life much more enjoyable and makes a person (a) bit more confident.
Thoroughly enjoyed this.

Hi Margaret, I really enjoyed our time together. It was a lot to take in - but it was all so fascinating! ... It was the first time I have ever confidently stepped inside a ladies fashion store. I never felt stressed and enjoyed the whole experience! I worked my way around the store and was amazed at how quickly I was able to identify the lines of the garments - especially those horizontal lines which quickly got bypassed.
Everyone is commenting on the pink scarf!

I can't think of anything that needs improving. You presented it very well Margaret and (it) is going to be very helpful to me from now on when I go shopping. I loved it.

I really appreciated the extra time you spent with me helping me to get my head around my personal style and my wardrobe!
What worked well? the attitude and atmosphere sitting behind the consultation. I felt that I was well-supported by someone who knew their "product" and whose focus was on me totally understanding my individual style (so time was saved by going over other shapes and colours etc that weren't related to me). Also, the follow-up letter to summarise my personal style.
Would you recommend me to your friends? absolutely. I'm trying to organise a group consultation at the moment. I will be in touch about this!

The workshop was great thank you, I learnt heaps. It was quite fascinating what you were saying about the colours I suit and seeing them on other people. I have always loved Mum's Autumn colours in her wardrobe, now I know why. My partner was rather pleased to hear I (won't) wear black again, he thinks I look better without it.
Thanks again and I may ring you when my friend and I go looking for bridesmaid dresses, at least now I know what to look for.

Good, informative and well presented ... lovely, colourful and beautifully presented resources kept it really interesting...I think you have really put a lot of time into this and it is a credit to you. Including a bit of your own testimony the way you do gives hope and brings it all within the realm of attainability for people who are really struggling themselves.

Thanks Margaret, we had a great time, and can't wait to find some time to clean out the wardrobe and then GO SHOPPING! A very pleasant way to spend the morning and I can't believe how fast the time went.
Thanks heaps.

I found your workshop excellent value. The information has helped me so much, I feel as though I am a new woman. Knowing my colours has freed me to be the person God created me to be. No longer am I trapped in dark colours that make me feel ‘frumpy’, but knowing that I CAN wear the colours I didn’t dare to before has given me a new lease on life.
Thank you so much for ministering to us in that way. Bless you heaps.

Thanks so much for Friday night. I know Peggy enjoyed it and I’m afraid to think what has happened to her Mum’s wardrobe since then!!! I’m sure there will be lots of fun shopping to be done.
I have had a fabulous (kid free) shopping trip this morning!! Armed with my colour swatches I experimented with raspberry, teal/blue green, midnight blue, and royal blue/violet (no black or red in sight). Some of these colours I have never ever tried on and everything looked absolutely fabulous – so I bought the lot!! All very cost effectively at Ezibuy.
Really enjoyed the night. Cheers,

Thanks so much for your great workshop last week. We had some good feedback from our participants about the content of your workshop and how professional you were. I can confidently say that we all had fun, learnt a thing or two about our dress sense & what personally works for us & what does not, & we will all be looking at each other at our next meeting to see if we have followed your expert advice!
It was also lovely to catch up with you again. Keep up the great work. Kind regards,

I really enjoyed Friday! I told a couple of friends at my other work today about it, and how much fun it was and one they’ve requested your details for a potential hen party evening!
Was really glad we spent time on the colour aspect, as I’ve always felt a bit lost by that and feel much more sure now.
I thought your little booklets were GREAT to come away with. Thanks again!

I did so enjoy my time with you a few weeks ago. I learned so much and am enjoying viewing the fashion shops in a new light!! Dressing to my style has given me so much more confidence. I wish I had done this years ago.

I am writing this letter to you to say thank you for the wonderful difference you have made to my everyday life. I can now leave the house with a new found confidence, feeling (and looking) great in my clothes, which enables me to tackle anything the day brings.
For anyone who is thinking of taking one of Margaret’s Personal Style workshops perhaps you will be able to relate to my story. Margaret came and did a private consultation with me not long after I changed jobs. My previous work involved wearing track pants and t-shirts, and I was now at a job that required “corporate” style dress. At the time I was struggling with the issue of having an (almost) non existent budget with which to try and dress myself and look “business like”. Friends had helped out with clothes they no longer used and I had bought a couple of items, but I didn’t feel comfortable with the image I was presenting. Although I was good at putting together colours in an outfit something just wasn’t working.
Margaret was wonderful and very easy to understand with the way she explained and helped me to learn my style. It was very effective to have pictures of the different types of clothes and colour swatches, to help reinforce the ideas.
Initially I thought there was no way I could cope with only a few different “capsules” or outfits in my wardrobe, and that people would notice if I wore the same pair of black trousers twice in one week. How wrong I was! Having now had some months of putting into practice what Margaret has taught me, I have found that I do manage to look different every day of the week, but I am actually only using the same few, well bought items to create so many different looks.
Margaret also went over some of my wardrobe and helped me to realize that although my “friends” clothes or my favourite “old” item was often a good colour for me (or maybe even a good fit) they were doing me a dis-service in the effort to try and economize on buying the new “business” wardrobe. Because they were not right for my personal style they were making me look and feel uncomfortable.
With her top tips and the items that I did have in my wardrobe that were right for me, I have bought a few essential pieces, so now instead of looking in my wardrobe and thinking with dread “what am I going to wear today?” I can mix and match with confidence, and go to work knowing I look the part.
I have even found it’s much easier going shopping; as I can walk past displays that are the wrong colour or shape and know that I don’t have to spend countless hours trying clothes on, getting disgruntled and wondering why nothing “looks right”. I can now target clothes that are right for me and shop with certainty, knowing it will fit with my wardrobe and get lots of use.
In summary I would highly recommend any of Margaret’s Personal Style workshops (I did the group one first) as I found the ideas were communicated well and have been easy to remember and apply to my every day life. It has been money well spent and has paid for itself several times over already in the ability to shop wisely. Thank you Margaret,
Vanessa Watkins
1 December 2005 - One hour presentation to large group
It was my pleasure to have Margaret Stodart of Personal Style, hold a Personal Style Workshop, for the ladies of our church.
It was my intention to have a night specially for the ladies, where not only we would come together and have fun as women, but to also provide them with something with which they could grow as women.
We have a broad spectrum of ladies attending our church and Margaret conducted herself in a very professional manner. Her ability to relate to all the ladies and to empathise with them all, was noticeable and admirable. Her content was such that she held all the ladies interest and was able to answer all questions with ease.
Margaret’s desire is to see women empowered and this was evident in her presentation. She gave the ladies relevant information and keys for them to put into practice in their personal lives, thus equipping them to acquire more confidence in themselves.
The ladies have since told me how much they enjoyed their night out and how they have been putting into practice the keys Margaret presented them with.
I have no hesitation in recommending Margaret and her Personal Style Workshops.

Thanks to Margaret I can now identify the right colours for me, what my natural line is and mix of style personality. Prior to attending the seminar I had no sense of dress, seriously! I won't even attempt outlining my wardrobe.
I knew I had to seriously do something in this arena, especially now that I have a young baby. I felt it was about time to really look and feel my best and feeling more positive about myself.
I have visited various second hand clothing stores with more to see, the momentum is so there its great. This is a first for me really enjoying browsing around these stores.
I'm so glad I took the initiative to attend the seminar. As a turning point in my life this will also benefit my daughter as she grows. I cannot thank Margaret enough for what she has done for me, her inspiration and her enthusiastic attitude I marvel.
Not only is the wardrobe looking good but identifying boundaries is a great help. Oh! I'm also drinking 1 to 2 litres of water a day and I feel great.

I had an awesome time and Margaret really knows her stuff. I feel more confident when I make a purchase now … especially using the capsules to help me buy in a more knowing way instead of out of control … which is how I usually buy clothes.
Thank you Margaret, you saved me!!!

After attending one of Margaret's evenings, I feel more confident in choosing clothes to suit me - I had my colours done some years ago but now I look at clothes more thoroughly with regard to style.

Thank you Margaret for the presentation last Friday. On the weekend I spent time throwing out clothes that I had not worn for some time. While I still think they looked fine I had a better understanding of why I wasn't wearing them.
Thank you.

It was great to realise that you could identify the personal style that you would like to identify with and work towards that. And the ideas on what to or not to emphasise. Cheers

….interesting and practical workshop. It brought together some concepts and ideas which although simple, were useful and practical and made sense. It also gave me permission to rethink my styles and try a new and exciting theme to match my new way of thinking and being. Thank you Margaret.

Participating in your workshop was a good experience, especially when it came to clarifying my dress type. I had known what style I like to wear, considering my shape etc, and it has helped me decide what colours I need to concentrate on when purchasing new clothes.
